San Marcos, TX, Is On The Rise
Just 30 miles outside
of downtown Austin, the Greater San Marcos area offers close access to the
vibrancy of Austin but at a more affordable cost because housing prices are
nearly 40 percent less than in Austin. But the lower cost is not a sign of
slower growth. In fact, San Marcos was ranked the fastest-growing city in the
U.S. by the Census Bureau and is the county seat of Hays County, which ranked
the fastest-growing county in the nation with a population of more than
150,000. This growth has caused some to dub the region "America's Next
Great Metropolis." No wonder many people prefer to move to San Marcos, and
The Parlor offers one of the most luxurious living downtown. Not only does the region offer a
dramatically lower cost of living, but Greater San Marcos is also adding
employment opportunities at a rapid rate. Amazon is one of the many companies
that have taken advantage of the area's strategic location with a fulfillment
center that has created more than 3,500 jobs.

A Texas Dad Smashes a Windshield to Save a Baby
A
Texas dad accidentally left the keys in a hot car in Harlingen, where
temperatures reached over 100 degrees. A baby was rescued from the car, and a
crowd worked together to smash the front windshield with various instruments.
The bystander filmed the scene, but it was not recorded that a woman climbed
through the broken windshield to reach the child and hand them out. The
National Highway Traffic Administration states that it takes just 10 minutes
for a car to heat up by 20 degrees, and children's body temperatures rise three
to five times faster than adults. The situation can quickly become dangerous
when children are left in a hot vehicle. Read
